Chloe Frances Smith is a Multi-Media Visual Artist born and raised in Alabama. She graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with a BFA in Photography while also receiving a triple minor in the History of Art, Ethics and Sustainability, and Film and Media Studies. She is currently pursuing her MFA at Columbia University in Writing for Film and Television.
Smith's work is centered around her deep interpersonal familial relationships, southern upbringing, and exploration of self through identity performance. These concepts are brought to life through analog photography, writing, video art, and interactive sculpture. Her projects are approached with a documentary perspective to display the romanticization of Smith’s personal experiences.
